Photo provided. The Verndale National Honor Society sponsored a holiday food drive in December. In total, $617.00 was raised to support the local food shelf during the holiday season. On Monday, Dec. 19, several of the National Honor Society members took those cash donations to Super One and filled up six grocery carts with non-perishable food items. The receipt from this purchase stretched nearly eight feet! The members proceeded to make the delivery to the Wadena County food shelf.
