The BookEnds program scheduled for Saturday, March 9 at the Uptown in Wadena, has been cancelled due to weather. The program featuring Mary Krugerud, author of “The Girl in Building C: The True Story of a Teenage Tuberculosis Patient”, has been postponed to June 20. For more information, contact the Wadena County Historical Society at 218 631-9079 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
Due to extreme cold temperatures across the state, your Wadena Pioneer Journal newspaper may be delivered a day late. While newspaper staff were able to get the paper out on time and ready to go, the United States Postal Service will not be able to deliver today due to dangerously low temperatures and wind chill values of 50-60 below zero, which caused postal delivery operations to be suspended in Minnesota, western Wisconsin, Iowa and western Illinois on Wednesday.
