Felony sentencing has been handed down in a theft case which was first investigated early September of last year, according to Otter Tail County court records. On Sept. 7, a representative of the Big Foot Gas and Grocery, of Vining, informed investigators that an employee, identified in the complaint as 56-year-old Kelly Barton Dietz, a resident of Henning, had taken a bank bag containing cash from the business but "was going to return it."
WADENA COUNTY, Minn. — A woman suffered injuries that were life-threatening Wednesday evening, Jan. 31, after her vehicle went into the ditch and hit a tree. The Minnesota State Patrol reports that 59-year-old Jeanette Marie Karkinen, of Menahga, Minn., was southbound on Highway 71 near 384th Street when at 5 p.m., her 2017 Chevrolet Spark went off the road and struck a tree. Karkinen was taken to Park Rapids Hospital with injuries that were life-threatening.
A 61-year-old Sebeka man was killed Monday when the semi-truck he was driving hit another truck at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and Minnesota Highway 27 in Grant County. The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the driver as Joseph Cecil Hensel. He was not wearing a seat belt. The state patrol said the other driver, Alan Lee Powell, 63, of Mexico, Missouri, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. - A Dent, Minnesota, man has been found after being reported missing for several days, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office announced Sunday, Oct. 22. Family of Paul Baker, 51, 34723 County Highway 35, said he was at a friend's home and was not in any danger, the sheriff's office reported.
FARGO -- Police here are responding to a report of a suicidal man in the seventh floor of the downtown Radisson hotel. The man may have a gun. The SWAT team arrived on site just before 11:30 a.m. Police are trying to make contact with the man, which so far has not been successful, said Officer Jesica Schindeldecker, a Fargo police spokeswoman.
A press release from the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office describes a considerable marijuana operation southwest of New York Mills that has been shut down by law enforcement. According to the report, on the morning of Aug. 31, agents with the West Central Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, aided by members of the sheriff's office, executed a search warrant at a residence on County Highway 54, near 500th Avenue.

ALEXANDRIA, Minn.—Jasmine Block, the 15-year-old Alexandria girl who disappeared nearly a month ago from her home, was found Tuesday, Sept. 5, in rural Grant County. "We found Jasmine and she is safe. I will not be answering any messages or calls," Jasmine's mother, Sarah Block posted on Facebook on Tuesday. The Alexandria Police Department put out a news release at about 3:33 p.m. Tuesday confirming that Jasmine had been found.
