Jim Formanek, former Wadena-Deer Creek art teacher, shows a music-themed mural Monday in the upstairs of The Uptown, where he has been storing it and other student artwork from the 1990s and 2000s. The art was salvaged after a June 17, 2010 tornado destroyed the old WDC school.

Rural Wadena musician Robert Segovia performs his original song, "Te Busco a Ti", Monday evening, the day his latest album, "Out of the Norm", was released digitally. A concert for the release of the physical CD will be held 6:30 p.m. July 28 at the Wadena Evangelical Church. Segovia has been active in performing locally, as well as other areas of the country.
