Ryan Redfield showed his partiality for the WDC court again Tuesday night as he hit seven treys and scored 26 points in a 80-62 win over neighboring Verndale.

Redfield has now scored 20 or more points in three straight home court games.

Evan VanErp followed up two strong performances in the Otter Holidy Classic by scoring 25 points for WDC.

Ben Birch did his job in the post with 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Aaron Denny gave the Pirates 16 tallies while Dallas Ermantraut scored 14 points and Marcos Gomez netted 11.

The Wolverines had a big 48-30 edge on the boards. VanErp had one of his best rebounding nights of the season pulling down 11.

The Pirates ran into foul trouble which gave the Wolverines 44 cracks at the free throw line. Tom VanErp's club clicked on 30 of their attempts from the charity stripe and saw VanErp and Birch combine to go 25 of 34.

The Pirates did their best to counter WDC's free throw shooting from three-point range but they connected on just six of their 30 attempts for a cool 15 percent.

"I thought we pushed the tempo really well in the second half and Verndale got tired," VanErp said.

The victory was the WDC club's fourth in their last five games and gave the Wolverines a 4-5 record on the season. The loss dropped Verndale to 2-6.

Ben Birch tacked up 13 points for the Wolverines who shot a respectable 43 percent from the floor.
