Jon Skwira, Matt Messman and Cody Schwinghammer scored six of Holdingford's eight touchdowns Tuesday as the Huskers ousted Wadena-Deer Creek from the Section 6AA playoffs with a 51-6 win.
The Wolverines, who ended the season with a 2-7 record, ran into a revved up Holdingford team, which brought a 7-1 record into theplayoffs.
"Our kids were really ready to play," Holdingford Head Coach Luke Mitchell said. "It was our first home playoff game for a long time."
The Huskers put 27 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter. "Our offensive line really came off the ball," Mitchell said. The O-line's play led to both the Skwira's touchdowns, from 8 and 15 yards out, a 10-yard scoring run by Matt Messman and a touchdown pass of 18 yards from Mitch Messman to Schwinghammer.
The Huskers added six in the second quarter when Messman scored from 2 yards out.

Cody Bialka cashed in on a 14-yard run for Holdingford in the third quarter. Schwinghammer added his second touchdown of the game when he picked off a pass and sprinted 53 yards for six. Tayler Nitz scored Holdingford's final touchdown in the fourth quarter from 4 yards out.
Jacob Krause busted up Holdingford's shutout bid with a 5-yard TD run in the third quarter.
Skwira rushed 16 times for 100 yards. Bialka logged 53 yards on five carries, and Mitch Messman rushed five times for 51 yards.
Evan Van Erp carried most of the offensive load for WDC with 86 yards on 14 rushing attempts. VanErp had a rough night throwing the ball with just two completions and 47 yards against three interceptions.
Dylan Dumpprope was credited with both grabs.
The Wolverines also gave the ball up twice on fumbles.
The Huskers will face top-ranked Pierz Saturday in the Section 6AA finals.
