The Wolverines took some big strides toward their first dual win in a tough 4-3 loss to Detroit Lakes.

The Wolverines won two of three doubles matches with Jessica Rinkel and Sam Holweger notching a 7-5, 6-3 win over Ashley Sybertson and Tess Hamre in the No. 1 match. Molly Barrett and Sarah Najjar toppled Whitney Benscoter and Laurenn Johnson 7-6 (9-7), 0-6, 7-6 (9-7) at No. 3 doubles.
The Lakers took three of the four matches in singles play but Andrea Jensen broke up a sweep by defeating Katie Anderson 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
"My girls are improving and came very close to picking up their first team win of the season," Koehler said. "We took away many positives from this match and will be looking to build for the remainder of the season."
