Missy Tabery’s Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines settled for a seventh-place tie with Moorhead Monday in the Cardinal Invitational at the Legacy Dutch Course.
Gabi Ross shot a team-best 91 as the Wolverines turned in a team round of 387. Detroit Lakes won the 15-team invitational with a 305. Alexandria was a distant second with a 342.
Detroit Lakes’ Kate Smith took medalist honors with a 70.
“It was very windy and a tough course with tough competition,” Tabery said. “The girls left a lot of shots out there and know how good they could be.”
Jess Rondestvedt finished with a 96 for the Wolverines while Paige Hartman shot a 99, Heather Theisen carded a 101 and McKayla Woods fired a 134.
