Emily Miron collected a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday in leading the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines to a 51-44 victory over the Breckenridge Cowgirls.
"Our offense was like a roller coaster," WDC Head Coach Keith Ferris said. "We had our ups and downs."
The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines led by eight at the half, 31-23, but surged ahead by 25 in the second half before the Cowgirls rallied behind a press to close the final gap to seven.
Katrina Dahlgren led the Cowgirls with 17 points.
The victory improved the Wolverines season record to 12-4. The Cowgirls lost for the fifth straight time and fell to 5-9 overall.

The Wolverines became the fifth straight team to be held to less than 30 points Thursday night by the state-ranked Nuggets.
Hawley geared up for a rematch with Class 3A's top-ranked Fergus Falls Otters by stifling a WDC squad that brought a fine 11-3 record into the contest. The Wolverines were riding a three-game winning streak and had not been held to less than 43 points.
The Nuggets lost a 60-43 decision to Fergus Falls in the Otter Holiday Classic Dec. 29.
Hawley's Drew Sannes led all scorers with 25 points. Emily Miron had 14 points for the Wolverines.
