The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines were held to 23 field goal attempts Thursday in a 75-35 loss to Verndale in a Park Region Conference tilt at Verndale.
The Wolverines converted on 10 of their attempts for a 44 percent clip. Rylie Langer led the Wolverines with nine tallies. Casey Volkmann chipped in with eight.
The veteran Verndale club took 69 field goal shots and canned 32 for a 46 percent average.
Jordyn Glenz and Morgan Glenz had double-double nights for Verndale. Jordyn netted 12 points and grabbed 12 boards. Morgan came up with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Lexi Steege led all scorers with 15 points. Sarah Moenkedick scored 11 points.

Rachel and Olivia Schwartz both pulled down six rebounds in the loss.
The Wolverines dropped to 1-11 and 0-6 in the PRC. The Pirates went to 5-1 in the conference and 10-3 overall.
The Wolverines are slated to play conference road games with New York Mills and Sebeka this Friday and Saturday.

Courtney Dague and Paige Wallevand combined for 28 points as the Hornets handed the Wolverines a 57-35 Park Region Conference defeat.
The Hornets were hot at the free throw line making 14 of 17 shots.
Courtney Volkmann led WDC's scoring attack with eight points. Rylie Langer came up with seven.
