The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines captured three of four singles matches and added a doubles win Tuesday to edge West Central Area 4-3 for their third victory of the season.
Macy Hartman, Haley Anderson and Paige Hartman notched singles victories for the Wolverines. Macy Hartman tacked up a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Nicole Anderson at No. 1 while Anderson topped Jasmyn Smith 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 and Paige Hartman defeated Sarah Frisch 6-2, 6-1 in the No, 3 match.
WDC's No. 2 doubles team of Desiree Isola and Sarah Najjar beat Alayna McLaughlin and Savanna Westrom 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.

Hartman earns runner-up honors in Lions Invite
Macy Hartman grabbed second place in No. 1 singles play Saturday as the Wolverines hosted their annual Lions Invitational.
Hartman beat Crosby-Ironton's Alice Bertram 4-6, 6-3 (7-4) in Round 1 but fell to Pequot Lakes' Tricia Villella 6-2, 6-2 in the second round. Hartman bounced back overcome Brianne Giesler of Osakis 2-6, 6-4, (8-6).
WDC's Haley Anderson lost to Crosby-Ironton's Mariah Oren-Craig 7-5, 6-4, Pequot Lakes' Kaycee Nelson 6-2, 6-2 and Tonya Hetland of Osakis 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
No. 3 singles action saw Paige Hartman falling to C-I's Shannon Lundgren 6-3, 6-4, Pequot's Ellie Heggerston 6-2, 6-3 and Osakis champion Taylor Kraemer 6-2, 6-2.
Molly Barrett fell to C-I's Meredith Silgen 6-2, 6-2 in the first round of No. 4 singles play before bowing to Pequot's Haley Wiebolt 6-3, 6-3 and Aimee Allen of Osakis 6-3, 6-2.
WDC's Anna Meltzer and Hannah Jacobson suffered a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Crosby-Ironton's Ashley Barutt and Vanessa Hudrlik in their No. 1 doubles opener. The WDC duo then lost to Pequot's Nicci Hedtke and Brittny Breitbach 6-2, 6-2 before falling to the Osakis championship team of Kiera And Sabrina Zimmel 6-2, 6-2.
The team of Sarah Najjar and Ashley Carlson lost to Jessica Lundstrom and Gabrelle Hudrlik 6-2, 6-3 of C-I at No. 2 doubles and they fell 6-3, 6-2 to Pequot's Jaden Lindner and Taylor Crocker and 6-2, 6-2 to Janna Juntenen and Lauren Silbernick of Osakis.

Anderson topped Jakki Sjobeck 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 match while Najjar stopped Mackenzie Thompson 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 4 contest.
The Panthers swept doubles play behind the teams of Katherine Wippler and Eloise Warren, Brittany Shircliff and Renee Warren and Amber Suchy and Melany Arceneau.
