Four players scored in double figures as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines crushed Park Rapids 82-35 Friday in Mid-State Conference action.

"We finally started a game fast," WDC head coach Brian Silbernick said. "We pressed a little the first half and created a few turnovers but the story was our transition game. Our posts ran the floor well, getting easy baskets inside on the fast break."

Freshman Emily Miron had a big game for the Wolverines scoring a game-high 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Miron netted 12 of her game points in the first half as the Wolverines racked up a 47-22 lead.

Also having a double-double game was Courtney Volkmann who dished out 10 assists and scored 10 points.

Kelsi Crawford tacked up 13 points in the victory and Rachel Craig chimed in with 10. Nine WDC players contributed to the scoring.

Volkmann combined with Crawford and Rachael Carlisle for 20 rebounds.

"Defensively, we had a solid team effort and rebounded well, limiting second chances for Park Rapids," Silbernick said.

Hannah Wolff led the Panthers with 10 points.
