Wadena's Jose Perez triumphed over Tommy Woodner of Shakopee on a close decision Saturday in a super heavyweight bout at Cass Lake.
Albert Boldt and Matt Umland of Wadena both lost their Silver Gloves bouts. Boldt was defeated No. 1 119-pound boxer out of Duluth. Umland was defeated the No. 1-ranked boxer from St. Paul in an 80-pound fight.
The Wadena Boxing Club is gearing up for a local card Saturday, Dec. 17, at the National Guard Armory. Boxing begins at 7:30 p.m.
