The Wadena-Deer Creek volleyball team continued its home dominance with a 25-22, 25-18 and 25-23 victory over Detroit Lakes on Sept. 17 at the Wadena-DC High School gymnasium.

The Wolverines remained perfect at home where they have won five straight games. They also continued a dominant stretch against their former conference rival. The Wolverines have won nine of their last 11 matches with Detroit Lakes in a stretch that spans over a decade.

Kennedy Gravelle and Madison Carsten paced the Wolverine attack with 22 and 14 kills, respectively. Laura Krause finished eight eight kills as well for the Wolverines. The Lakers, as a team, finished with 22 kills in the loss.

Courtny Warren finished with 22 digs, while Carsten finished with 11. MacKenzie Carsten and Hailey Wiederich recorded nine each. MacKenzie Carsten finished with 37 set assists as well in the win.

The Wolverines are back home on Thursday, Sept. 19 when they take on the Henning Hornets at 7:30 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Henning, but issues with the gymnasium forced the game to be relocated to Wadena.
