Three Wadena-Deer Creek players scored double digit kills Tuesday night as the Wolverines waltzed past section foe Perham 25-10, 25-12, 25-16.
Emily Miron, Halley Maas and Caitlin Volkmann came away with 19, 13 and 12 kills respectively in the first meeting this year between the section rivals.
Heather Theisen dished out a whopping 40 assists and combined with Volkmann, Maas, Sydney Schissel and Hope Theisen for 55 digs in WDC's defensive gem.
Miron was too much for Perham's hitters at the net as she recorded 14 blocks.
"We had a really good, all-around effort," WDC Head Coach Sue Volkmann said. "Our passing was good and we eliminated our unforced errors."

The Wolverines improved to 13-6, while the Yellowjackets dropped to 6-12-1.

Wolverines notch 2-2 at Chanhassen

The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines went 2-2 Saturday against competition in the Chanhassen Tournament.
Sue Volkmann saw her Wolverines draw No. 2-ranked Chanhassen in their first round of pool play. The Wolverines lost to Class 3A's third-ranked team in three games. The Storm captured the opener 25-21, but the Wolverines won Game 2 25-18. The Storm prevailed 15-8 in the tie-breaker.
WDC then disposed of Class 3A's Coon Rapids 25-18, 25-19 in pool play and drew New Prague in the first round of Gold Division play. The Wolverines defeated the Class AA Trojans 25-18 in Game 1 and prevailed 28-26 in Game 2.
Class 3A Hopkins knocked the Wolverines out of division play by beating them 25-21, 25-23.
"We found out that we can compete with Triple A teams," Volkmann said. "We needed to finish in some games."
