The Wadena-Deer Creek softball team could not get on track against Park Rapids Area on April 26 in Park Rapids. The Panthers struck early and often when they cruised to a 15-0 non-conference victory over the Wolverines.

The Panthers broke the game open with four runs in the second and put an end to the game with an eight-run fourth inning. Riley Michaelson earned the win in the circle. She allowed two hits and struck out three batters.

The two hits she allowed were singles to Laura Krause and Lila Lohmiller.

The Panthers have put the hurt on their competition to start the season. They have outscored their opponents 95-3 in six games so far. They have only played one seven inning game so far, while the others have been cut short by the mercy rule.

The Wolverines are now 2-2 overall on the season and return to action on April 27 when they take on the Perham Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. at the Wadena-DC High School.
