Ryan Murname, Luke Mehelich and Phil Stalpes iced two goals apiece Saturday evening as the Becker-Big Lake-Princeton Eagles bombed Wadena-Deer Creek 8-3.

The loss was WDC's fifth in a row. The WDC club dropped to 9-13-1.

The Wolverines grabbed a 2-1 lead in the first period on goals by Preston Warren and Jake Dykhoff.

DL was a fun game as we got the upper hand on them in the 2nd. They came out flying in the 3rd though and we couldn't slow it down.

The Eagles took charge of the game in the second period by outscoring the Wolverines 4-1. Warren broke a string of four straight goals by the Eagles when he scored a shorthanded goal with the help of Josh Daigneault and Dylan McManigle at the 14:31 mark of the period.

Murname had a five-point game for the Eagles adding a playmaker to his two goals.

The Eagles were tough in the clutch scoring four power play goals and one shorthanded goal. "We got stuck with too many penalties in the Becker game which they scored four times on," WDC head coach Kyle Davis said. "We couldn't get a lot of momentum going due to that."

The Wolverines dominated the shots on goal 36-24.

Kyle Davis and his Wolverines will host Red Lake Falls Saturday at 2 p.m. in their regular season finale.
