Moorhead veteran Joel Rovang ran away with the eight-kilometer title Saturday in the 25th running of the Otter Tail Lake Chase.

The 45-year-old Rovang turned in a winning time of 29:05 to pace field of 144 runners. Finishing second was Jason Toth of Cornwallon, N.Y. with a time of 31:16. Fergus Falls' Nathan Jensen finished third with a 31:50 effort. The Top 10 was rounded out by Wahpeton's Keirann Smith (31:54), St. Cloud's Elena Danielson (32:31), Bluffton's Brittin Roberts (32:40), Fergus Falls' Daniel Stueve (32:48), Pelican Rapids' Jackie Larson (32:48), Wahpeton's Jake Krohn (32:53) and St. Cloud's Greta Danielson (32:56).

Roberts' time was the fastest in the 16-19 age group. Stueve was runner-up in the 16-19 group.

Austin's Lynn and Chris Astrup were the top two finishers in the 5K Walk. A field of 75 walkers competed.
