Wadena-Deer Creek's Gabi Ross and Jess Rondestvedt fired rounds of 87 and 92 last Tuesday at Blackberry Ridge but failed to advance to state with the Section 6AA field.
The two WDC golfers qualified for second round action Monday with rounds of 90 and 94 respectively. Ross had a two-day total score of 177 and Rondestvedt notched a two-day score of 186.
WDC teammates McKayla Woods and Jessica Langer failed to make the first cut Monday after bringing in rounds of 109 and 114.
St. Cloud Cathedral took top team honors with a 705. Marja Sorenson shot a two-day total of 152 for the best individual score.
The Wolverines were named winners of the Section 6AA All-State Academic Award for 2015.
