Riewers hold Flames to five hits in 10-0 victory

Marcus and Michael Riewer combined to throw a five-hitter Sunday as the Bertha Blazers trounced Frazee 10-0 in a seven-inning game at Bertha.

Michael Riewer went 2-for-2, scored twice and drove in three runs for the Blazers. Austin Selvey drove in a pair of runs. Ten Bertha players collected hits.

Bertha 8, Fergus Falls 6

The Blazers weathered a three-run Fergus rally in the bottom of the ninth Saturday to beat the Hurricanes on their home field.

Marcus, Patrick, Michael and John Riewer combined for six hits, six runs and six RBIs in the victory.

Erick Hiedeman, Alex Hensch and Spencer Kidder, the top three hitters in the Fergus order, combine for seven hits, five RBIs and four runs.

Dakota Aeling went the first six innings to gain the mound win. Aeling struck out seven and walked three. Ryan Denny pitched three innings of relief.

Moorhead 10, Bertha 3

Mike Peschel and Tanner Adam combined to drive in seven runs Friday as the Brewers stormed back to beat the Blazers.

The hometown Brewers came up with six runs in the bottom of the seventh and added four more in the eighth.

Five Moorhead players doubled in the game with Spencer Flaten collecting two and Peschel, Adam and Matt Oye collecting one apiece.

Seven Blazers collected hits with Michael Riewer going 2-for-4. Dakota Aeling and Jared Hoemberg homered for the Blazers.

Patrick Riewer started for Bertha and struck out eight in five innings of shutout work but he also issued six free passes. John Riewer came on in the sixth and was hung with the loss.

Jason Bielke pitched six strong innings to earn the win.
