The Roseau Rams forced 34 turnovers Thursday as they ousted Wadena-Deer Creek from the Section 8AA playoffs with a convincing 80-34 win on their home court.
Roseau improved to 24-3 on the season and 12-0 at home. The second-seeded Rams dominated the first half scoring 47-17 over the 15th-seeded Wolverines.
Kacie and Kiley Borowicz led the Rams with 20 and 17 points respectively. The Rams canned 34 of their 72 field goal attempts in shooting 47 percent from the floor.
WDC's turnover problems allowed the Wolverines to put up only 36 field goal shots. The Wolverines shot 33 percent from the field. Katie Peterson went 6-for-8 at the free throw line as she led the Wolverines with eight tallies. Casey Volkmann netted seven points.
Kiley Borowicz collected a double-double by dominating the boards with 15 rebounds. The Rams outrebounded the Wolverines 38-27. Volkmann was WDC's top rebounder with seven.

"I thought our girls played hard and really well as a team," WDC head coach Tori Ehlert said. "We turned the ball over way too many times which really hurt us and Roseau executed on most of those. Roseau is a very good team and they have a lot of players that contribute in many different ways. Unfortunately, they were too much for us and we couldn't slow them down like we had planned."
The loss gave the Wolverines a final season record of 3-23.
