The Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Raiders placed second Tuesday in the Browerville/Eagle Valley Triangular.
The Raiders crushed Browerville/Eagle Valley 53-28 but lost a tough 36-34 decision to triangular winners Royalton-Upsala.
The Raiders scored victories in eight of the 14 matches in their loss to Royalton-Upsala. Racking up the wins were Justin Gordon at 106, Marshall Willis at 113, Dakota Finck at 145, Nick Bennett at 152, Dillon Card at 182, John French at 195 and Colin Turchin at heavyweight.
Cory Wensmann gave Royalton-Upsala their winning points when he pinned Dalton Baker at the 3:33 mark in their 220-pound match.

Four Raiders post victories in Pierz Quadrangular
Colin Turchin, Dalton Baker, Dillon Card and Justin Gordon tacked up victories Friday as the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Raiders tested the field in the Pierz Quadrangular.
The Raiders won four of 14 weights in a 49-19 loss to Paynesville and scored two victories in a 70-9 loss to Pierz.
Turchin and Card were both double winners. Turchin topped Dominick Platow of Paynesville 11-3 and scored a fall at the 1:34 mark against Pierz heavyweight Travis Johnson. Card pinned Paynesville's Mike Ludwig a the 2:27 mark of their 182-pound match and scored a 5-0 decision over Nick Lochner of Pierz.
Gordon decisioned Paynesville's Jordan Karels 8-2 in their 106-pound match. Baker was pinned Paynesville's Tanner Harder at the 1:45 mark of their 220-pound match.
