SEBEKA —The 2022 Park Region Conference Wrestling Tournament was held Saturday, Feb. 5, with Wolverine junior Koby Endres leading the team with a second place finish.
The West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville Knights captured first place with a team score of 225. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville was second with 207.5, followed by United North Central 192, Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie 124, and New York Mills 116. Osakis and Otter Tail Central tied for sixth place with 73.5 points, with Wadena-Deer Creek placing eighth with 24.
James Seelhammer (8/106), Grant Seelhammer (10/145), Eli Benning (10/152), Brandon Wheeler (11/160), Koby Endres (11/170) and Matthew Wegscheid (9/285) were competing for WDC.
Benning went 1-3 on the day and placed sixth.
Endres pinned Gabe Hanson of OTC in the quarterfinals and Blake Unger of New York Mills in the semifinals to advance to the championship match. In the finals, Koby lost to Anthony Sykora of WCA/A/BE. Sykora, a junior, is ranked #2 in Class A at 170 pounds.

In the Junior High portion of the PRC Tournament, the Wolverines' Dayton Putnam finished in a three-way tie for first place, Jayden Kenney and Ettore Pinnella both placed second, and Kash Stoecker and Gage Mallak each finished in fourth place.
Gallant places 6th at Pine Island girls tournament
Wadena-Deer Creek wrestler Madelyn Gallant (2-8) placed sixth and scored 6 team points in the Pine Island girls tournament.
