KENSINGTON — Senior Bjorn Brunsberg placed 7th in the JV Boys' race Tuesday during the 2022 Alexandria Invite held at Andes Tower Hills.
A total of 37 racers were in the event. Bjorn's time was 22:10.
Grant Nelson competed in the Junior High Boys' race and finished 17th out of 63 racers with a time of 15:24.
"Both events were Classic style skiing," said coach Terry Olson. "Both Bjorn and Grant were happy with how much better they did compared to the last time they skied that style."
The WDC Nordic Ski team will compete in the Sauk Rapids-Rice "Cookie" Invitational at Riverside Park in St. Cloud on Friday and then go north for the Bemidji Invitational at the Buena Vista Ski Area on Saturday.
The tough two-day schedule was exactly was coach Olson was looking for to prepare the team for sections, which are a two-day event.
