WADENA — Verndale junior and Wadena-Deer Creek hockey captain Dalton Moyer was selected as a MN Wild Hockey Captain Spotlight recipient for the month of March.
This honor is bestowed upon captains who are nominated and selected for their leadership on and off the ice.
The program honors two high school hockey captains per month, November thru March. Candidates were chosen based on the following criteria:
- Demonstrates a passion for the sport of hockey
- Exemplifies leadership and hard work on the ice and in the classroom
- Contributes to their local community
- Goes above and beyond to help create a greater State of Hockey
Moyer will receive a custom Wild jersey, be highlighted on
social media and the webpage
throughout the month of March, and receive two tickets to the Minnesota Wild vs. Vancouver Canucks game on Thursday, March 24.
Dalton recently wrapped up his season on the ice with the team ending with a 14-12 record.
Moyer added up 18 points and three goals this season.
