WADENA — Wadena-Deer Creek’s Emma Weniger shot a 102 for the Wolverines who placed second out of five teams with a 442 team score in a Northern Pines Conference meet Tuesday, May 3, at Whitetail Run Golf Course.
Playing at home for the first time this season the WDC Girls' Golf team saw its score improve dramatically from the previous day.
"It was so much fun," said WDC head coach Kevin Ross. "(We) saw a drastic improvement as the top four scores took off 39 strokes from the day before."
Weniger, a seventh grader, trimmed eight shots off of Monday's round to lead the Wolverines for the second straight day.
Wadena-Deer Creek results: Emma Weniger 102, Kelanie Oldakowski 111, Kayla Meeks 112, Libby Hartman 134, Amara Neurenberg 130, Cayleigh Oie 135, Izzy Johnson 139
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
