Girls golf: Wolverines claim 7th at Gravel Pit

BRAINERD — The Wadena-Deer Creek Girls' Golf team played the newly opened Gravel Pit Golf Course in Brainerd on Tuesday, May 10.

According to Wolverines' head coach Kevin Ross, the course is an 'extreme' 13 hole course that was built in a former gravel pit. All of the holes are par 3.

"We were seventh out of nine teams," Ross said. "The girls had some really good shots."

WDC was led by junior Kayla Meeks who shot a 56, which was good for 19th place overall.
