WADENA — With seven seniors, the Wadena Deer-Creek girls' basketball team brought lots of experience to the court Tuesday night as the team celebrated Senior Night and a win over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder.
The 11-9 Wolverines kept the Thunder to only one win so far this season as the final score was 56-33.
"It was great to recognize and honor our seven seniors tonight," WDC coach Jordan Cresap said. They have sacrificed a lot for the basketball program, WDC schools, and the Wadena community. They work hard, are well rounded student athletes and have been great role models for our younger players. They are great teammates and have positive attitudes regardless of individual situations. Proud of these seniors and blessed to coach them."

Seniors Madison Packer and Lauryn Gravelle, typical starters, were kept to the bench for the start of the game.
Both teams were consistent through the battle as the half ended with the Wolverines up 27-17. The second half had the Wolverines scoring 29 and the Thunder 16.
The Thunder were led by senior Itzel Salazar with 16 points.
The Wolverines spread out their scoring with lead scorers included senior Corra Endres with 12, senior Lauryn Gravelle 11, Payton Gravelle, Summer Pettit and Montana Carsten with 9. The Wolverines were 80% accurate with their free throws, with three players not missing.
