Boys golf: Wolverines land in 7th place at Staples invite

The Wolverines next play Tuesday, May 3, at The Pines at Grand View Lodge.

STAPLES — The Wolverines saw improvements as they landed in seventh out of nine teams Friday, April 29, at The Vintage.
Cole Woods finished eighth overall, out of approximately 54 players with a score of 80.
Other scoring from the Wolverines included Aiden Allred , 89; Isaac Christianson, 96; Cole Berglund, 101; Jaeger Pettit, 104; and Phillip Ross 117.
The event was used as a Mid-MN conference meet, according to Wadena-Deer Creek Boys' Golf coach Scott Woods.

Albany won the event with a team score of 315. The Wolverines scored 366.

Tyler Seeling of Pequot Lakes was the medalist with a 73.

"Aidan Allred had his best round in competition with an 89," Coach Woods said. "Isaac played well again. Jaeger showed a lot of improvement and Phillip got his first taste of varsity action."
