Baseball: Wolverines pull a win over Panthers

DEER CREEK — A ninth inning score allowed the Wadena-Deer Creek boys to post a close 3-2 win over the visiting Parkers Prairie team Friday, May 6.
WDC scored 1 in the first, third and ninth innings capitalizing off just four hits. The Panthers had just three hits. The Panthers had one more error, seven compared to the Wolverines six errors in the outing.
Isaac Hamann, Josh Dykhoff and Carson Kern recorded runs for WDC. Hamann and Dykhoff were the only Wolverines with hits, each recording two.
Hamann was strong at the mound, too. He held off the Panthers over eight innings and struck out eight. Josh Dykhoff closed the ninth inning and held off the Panther batters, striking out all three of them.
Dylan Debilzen hung on for eight innings for Parkers Prairie. He struck out nine on the night.
