Zack Meidinger sparked the Pirates with 32 points Tuesday night as Greg Johnson's Verndale squad ended a 19-game losing streak by topping Laporte 62-55 in overtime.
Caleb Burczyk scored 10 points for the Pirates, who had not won a game since Dec. 8 when they defeated Parkers Prairie.
Caleb Nelson led Laporte with 17 points while Chance Reimer had 11.
The two clubs were tied at 48 at the end of regulation time.

The Huskies out-scored the Pirates 27-22 in the second half.
