The second-seeded Pequot Lakes Patriots derailed the seventh-seeded Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines 7-0 Tuesday in the Section 8A team tennis tournament.
The Pats won all seven of their matches with the Wolverines in straight sets for the second time this year. The two clubs met for the first time Sept, 25 in Wadena.
WDC singles and doubles players still have a shot at state through the Section 8A individual tournament Friday and Saturday in Grand Forks. The state Class A meet will be held Oct. 23-26 at the Reed-Sweatt Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
