Sari Noga tossed a three-hitter Thursday as Parkers Prairie whipped Verndale 10-1 in East Sub-Section 5A action at Brandon.

The loss to Parkers was the first playoff loss for the defending section champion Pirates.

The Pirates helped the Panthers out by committing six errors.

Bart threw a three-hitter as the Pirates trounced Bertha-Hewitt 12-0 in the first playoff game last Thursday.

Coming up with two RBIs apiece for the Pirates were Crystal Haskin, Elizabeth Johnson and Heather Hejhal.

Lizzy Yungbauer went 1-for-2 with an RBI as the Pirates edged Pillager 5-4 in Tuesday's opening round.

The Pirates trailed 4-0 going into the bottom of the fifth when they scored three times. Tim Seaton's players added the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Aly Erickson and Carley Nelson fired gems last Thursday as the No. 1-ranked Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines were ousted from Sub-Section 8AA softball action.

Erickson pitched a two-hitter as Fergus Falls topped WDC 12-0 in five innings.

Erickson surrendered hits to Kendra Grothmann and Steph Perkins in the victory.

Nelson and the fifth-seeded Bulldogs pulled out a 3-1 win over the Wolverines in Thursday's first playoff game.

Perkins scored WDC's lone run against the Bulldogs, who qualified for the state tournament last year. The WDC senior went 2-for-3 in the loss. Nelson and Toni Hagen combined for four hits, two runs and one RBI.

The Wolverines ended the season with a 17-3 record.
