Teresa Moenkedick scored a season-high 40 points as the Verndale Pirates opened the new year with a 71-57 Park Region Conference victory over New York Mills.
Kristen Korfe chipped in with 10 points.
Ellie Rutten had a big night for the Eagles scoring 37 points.
The Pirates are now 4-6 overall and 1-3 in the PRC. The Eagles are also 1-3 in conference play but 1-9 overall.
