Wadena-Deer Creek School students and staff got a chance to see the Minnesota Twins "Shooting Star" Quilt up close on Wednesday when Wadena Mayor Wayne Wolden and WDC Baseball Coach Kyle Dykhoff brought the hand-stitched quilt to the school. Wolden and Dykhoff went to the Oct. 1 game at Target Field to accept the quilt from the Minnesota Twins. The quilt is signed by the 2010 Minnesota Twins baseball team. The Minnesota Twins wives organized an online auction as a benefit for the WDC Baseball Field damaged by the June 17 tornadoes. A total of $10,000 was raised.
