Alexandria shuts down Prairie Centre

Offense was hard to come by for the Prairie Centre Blue Devils when they returned to action against the Alexandria Cardinals on Jan. 8 at the Runestone Community Center.

The Cardinals put up two goals in each period and cruised to a 6-0 victory over Prairie Centre.

The Blue Devils managed just four shots on goal, all coming in the second period.

McKenna Ellingson and Kaci Trosvig tallied two goals each, while Marki Oberg and RIley Nyberg both scored in the 6-0 victory for the Cardinals.

Prairie Centre goalie Isabelle Hovel finished with 49 stops on 55 shots. Hailee Bailey stopped all four shots she faced for the shutout win for Alexandria.

The loss drops Prairie Centre to 8-8 overall and 3-4-0 against Section 6A opponents.
