Goeden shoots 77 in Detroit Lakes Early Bird

Jacob Goeden carded a 77 Monday as the Wadena-Deer Creek boys' golf team opened their season by firing a team round of 330 in the Detroit Lakes Early Bird.

Jacob Goeden carded a 77 Monday as the Wadena-Deer Creek boys' golf team opened their season by firing a team round of 330 in the Detroit Lakes Early Bird.

The Wolverines finished in a sixth-place tie with Crosby-Ironton. Detroit Lakes dominated the meet with a 277 - 31 strokes better than runner-up West Fargo.

Detroit Lakes' Ben Mallow turned in a strong 67 round for individual medalist honors.

WDC's Wesley Janson was just two stroke off Goeden's pace. Jordan Kern and Thomas Quincer came up with scores of 86 and 88 respectively. Jack Goeden and Matthew Quincer finished with rounds of 100 and 101.
