Jacob Goeden shot a two-day total of 165 Tuesday and Wednesday in his bid for a state trip at the Section 6AA meet.

Goeden posted one of only five rounds in the seventies Tuesday by turning in a 78. The only two golfers to have better first rounds were Staples-Motley's Andrew Israelson, who carded a 76 and Sauk Centre's Carter Kranz, who fired a 77.

Goeden ran into trouble on the second day of competition and posted an 87.

Israelson shot a 71 Wednesday to claim medalist honors with a two-day 147. His Staples-Motley teammates kicked to help him notch a tournament-winning total of 319.

The Wolverines finished with a 364. Jordan Kern shot a 90 while Wes Janson fired a 97, Jack Goeden and Thomas Quincer shot 99s and Matthew Quincer shot a 114.
