A cool shooting night hurt Tom VanErp's Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines Tuesday as they suffered a 62-56 road loss to Mid-State Conference foe Park Rapids.

The Wolverines managed to convert on just 13 of their 35 free throw shots for a cool 37 percent. The Panthers were 17 of 25 at the foul line for a 68 percent clip.

The Wolverines had a tough time getting their three-point shots to fall in the first half as they converted on only two of 13.

Kyle Goplerud led the Panthers with 17 points while Chris Goplerud added 13 and Tyler Ridlon netted 11.

Ben Birch chalked up 19 points to go along with 16 rebounds. Ryan Redfield canned four of his 13 three-point attempts in a 16-point night. Evan VanErp scored 11 points.

The Wolverines held a 47-36 rebounding advantage.

Following a trip to Pelican Rapids Monday for a game with the state-ranked Vikings, the Wolverines will return to Wadena for a Friday tilt with PRC foe Pequot Lakes. The Wolverines are 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the PRC.

Jacob and Will Goodwin combined for six treys while Michael Hoge and Daniel Hudrlik came up with double-doubles in a Mid-State Conference victory Friday over Wadena-Deer Creek.

Jacob Goodwin paced all C-I scorers with 16 points while Hoge and Hudrlik combined for 21 point and 20 rebounds.

The Rangers improved to 7-3 while the Wolverines dropped to 4-6.

Evan VanErp was high point man for the Wolverines with 17 points. Ben Birch came up with 10.
