Boys Hockey: Northern Lakes 4-goal third period too much for Wolverines

The teams were head to head through the first two periods.

BREEZY POINT — After defeating Northern Lakes over the holidays, Wadena-Deer Creek couldn't hold off the onslaught of shooters in their second match with the Lightning, Thursday, Jan. 20.
The teams held tight for the first two periods, but Northern Lakes (Pequot Lakes, Pine River-Backus, Aitkin, Crosby-Ironton) came to life with four goals in the third to finish off the Wolverines 7-3.

Scoring for W-DC were Cole Woods, Aron Sutherland and Aiden Sutherland. Connor Davis had a hand each score, with three assists. The goalies came up against a tall order with Northern Lakes launching in 50 shots and WDC 39 on the night.
