Jared Hoemberg homered and drove in three runs Sunday as the Bertha Blazers salvaged a three-game weekend slate by crushing Perham 13-4.

John Riewer joined Hoemberg with two RBIs. Marcus Riewer had four hits in six plate appearances for the Blazers and scored twice. Michael Riewer, Mike Blom, Patrick Riewer, Austin Selvey and Jordan Riewer combined for

eight runs, six hits and one RBI.

Jesse Hein went 3-for-4 and drove in one run for Perham in the cleanup spot.

Beau Bruhn homered for the Pirates and drove in two runs.

Jordan Riewer gave the Blazers six strong innings on the mound. Riewer scattered four hits while walking only one and fanning nine.

Taylor Doll walked five and gave up five earned runs in taking the loss.

The two clubs combined to strand 24 runners on base.

The Blazers left 20 runners aboard in Saturday losing a pair of games to the Royals at Bertha.

T.J. Erickson turned in a complete seven-game performance as Roseau topped Bertha in Game 1. Erickson allowed nine hits but the Royals played errorless ball behind him and the Blazers stranded 10 runners. Erickson walked three and fanned four.

Ryan Denny got the starting nod for Bertha and went 4 2/3 innings before giving way to Michael Riewer. Denny, who was saddled with the loss, allowed five runs, walked four and fanned five.

Michael, John and Jordan Riewer all pitched in relief.

Mike Blom and John Riewer combined for four hits and two RBIs in the loss.

Jared Hoemberg drew three walks and scored once.

Logan Holst went all the way as the Royals racked up a sweep by claiming Game 2.

The Royals fought back from a 4-1 deficit to tie the game at 4-all in the top of the sixth. They broke the deadlock with two runs in the eighth. Jared Nelson singled and scored on an error for the first run. Ken Hayden walked and scored on a two-out single by T.J. Erickson.

The Blazers put the tying run on base with two out in the bottom of the eighth as Michael Riewer doubled but Dakota Aeling struck out swinging to end the threat.

Holst gave up nine hits and three walks while striking out out seven. Patrick Riewer went seven frames for Bertha and struck out eight Roseau batters. The loss went to Michael Riewer who pitched the eighth.

Erickson and Nathan Voll both banged out two hits for Roseau. Nelson and Hayden scored two runs apiece.

Michael Riewer went 3-for-5 and scored twice for Bertha. Mike Blom went 2-for-4, scored once and drove in a run.
