Five pitchers threw shutout ball and the Bertha Blazers accomplished the rare feat of racking up two 11-run innings Sunday in a sweep of the Henning Giants.
Patrick Riewer and Ethan Bakken teamed up for a two-hitter as the Blazers dominated the opener 12-0. Riewer fanned eight and did not allow a walk in gaining the mound win.
Seventeen Bertha players went to the plate in the 11-run first inning.
Marcus Riewer, Ethan Bakken and Dakota Aeling finished with two RBIs apiece. Mike Bloom joined Preston, Marcus and Patrick Riewer in scoring twice.
Justin Love and Troy Thorson collected base hits for the Giants.

Sixteen Bertha players batted as the Blazers once again put up 11 first inning runs in the nightcap. Marcus and Patrick Riewer combined with Jeremy Frethem to drive in seven runs. Grant Heid went 3-for-3 in the win. Nate Meissner scored three times.
Bobby Grant singled for Henning's lone hit off Heid, Meissner and John Riewer. The victory went to Riewer who started on the hill and pitched three innings.
The Giants were guilty of a total of nine errors in the doubleheader. The Blazers played errorless ball.
