Strong attack leads Pelican Rapids by Wadena-DC

A balanced attack and strong defense helped the Pelican Rapids Vikings over the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines 65-28 in Wadena on Jan. 8.

Adriana Torres led all scorers for the Vikings when she finished with 17 points. Kaylie Isamen finished with 14 points for the Vikings. Sarah Thompson added nine, while Anna Stephenson, Greta Tollefson and Ryley Paulson finished with six each.

Ashley Adams, Madison Carsten and Kennedy Gravelle finished with five points each to lead the Wolverines.

The Wolverines trailed 35-14 at the break and were outscored by 16 in the second half.

The Wolverines dropped their record to 3-8 overall. The Wolverines are back home on Jan. 10 when they take on Menahga before traveling on the road for four straight games, beginning on Jan. 11 with a trip to Crosby-Ironton.
