Wadena-DC moves to 5-0 with rout of Menahga

Wadena-Deer Creek wasted little time in jumping on Menahga with three runs in the first and three more in the second inning on its way to an 11-1 victory over Menahga. The Wolverines busted the game open with four more in the fifth, securing the 10-run rule victory.

Colby Schertler drove in four runs and finished with a pair of hits. He drove in two with a single in the first and two more with a double in the second.

Payton Rondestvedt finished with three hits and drove in a run. Chase Nordlund finished with a pair of hits and a run batted in as well for the Wolverines. Max Phillips drove in two runs, while Pettit drove in one as well.

The Wolverines belted out 10 hits in the game. Tony Kreklau and Zach Shaw finished with a hit each for the Wolverines.

Pettit picked up the win. He allowed one run on three hits. He struck out four and walked one batter. Noah Roers pitched an inning scoreless relief. He gave up one hit, one walk and struck out a batter.

The Wolverines return to action when they travel to New York Mills to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. at Jacobson Field in New York Mills.
