A campaign to create banners recognizing the athletic accomplishments of Wadena-Deer Creek athletes, both present and past, is presently under way.
The WDC senior high gym is presently without recognition banners. Current coaches and staff members are putting together WDC athletic accomplishments for transcription onto four by eight foot blue banners. There will be a separate banner listing by year and sport our state champions in individual sports.
A board listing the school records of WDC track and field athletes will be joined by the top record holders in wrestling.
People with information on past sub-section, section, state, Mid-State Conference and individual championships are asked to forward that information. The project is estimated at $3,000 and donations will be appreciated. Donations can be made out to: WDC sports banners, Attention Tyler Church, 600 SW Colfax, Wadena, MN 56482.
