Though it's cold outside, the Wadena Senior Center is bustling with activity throughout the winter.
A few members travel south in the winter but many stay in Wadena, said senior center manager Helen Cosen.
Located at 220 Jefferson Street South, the center has activities scheduled Monday through Thursday along with monthly casino trips to Mahnomen the second Saturday of the month. The Masons also meet at the club monthly.
Card games of all kinds are scheduled, including the Niblick Bridge Club, which meets twice a month. The Niblick Bridge Club started meeting at the golf course decades ago. Niblick is the name of a type of golf club, so the name is associated with golf.
The club also met at the old library, VFW and the Uptown before the senior center.

Members of the club head to the senior center for dessert, coffee and conversation while they play cards.
"It's a nice way for us to get out visit with others," said member Therese Pavek.
A few of the members have been playing for many years and remember playing out at the golf course. Others joined more recently. Some members say they're worried the activity won't continue with the next generation.
Besides bridge, the senior center schedules farkel, 31, pool, exercise, carving and other activities. Monthly seminars are presented on topics such as preventing diabetes and members can have blood pressure checked.
