I want to take a moment to be thankful in this season of the year for one of the true treasures afforded to us here in rural Minnesota in 2010: namely, the amazing cultural experiences now available to us all since the passage of the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment by the citizens of Minnesota two years ago.
In Wadena County, some of the organizations and events that have benefited include Madhatters Theater, the Old Wadena Rendezvous, the Whiskey Creek Film Festival, Green Island, the Staples Men's Chorus, to name only a handful among many events and organizations that add to our quality of life, and contribute to the economic well-being of all.
These organizations make it more attractive for our communities to bring teachers and doctors to live here, folks who love the outdoors as well as the culture-enriching events that we are able to sponsor right here in our own hometowns because of the Legacy Amendment. Minnesota citizens had the foresight to improve opportunities for artists, and all of us living here, and for that we should be thankful.
