I don't know when I've been so angry by a newspaper article. As an avid reader I was sad to read of the cut in funds to the library. I do understand that it may be necessary. What makes me angry is the statement by Commissioner Miller that readers should buy their books if they want to read. It's clear to me that Mr. Miller has not read a book in years. Most readers read many books a year, even a month. Does he know how much books cost? The library is necessary to educate and entertain. Adults, children, homebound and elderly. My advice to Mr. Miller is to buy a book and read it. He needs to learn something. I thank our library for providing a wonderful service and I know they will do a good job even with less money.
