Tom Emmer would like waiters and waitresses to earn less than minimum wages because they get tips. Most waiters and waitresses do not get sick pay, vacation pay or hospitalization. In small cafes, their tips are not extremely high. Senior citizens visit these establishments and people who are on minimum wage salaries too. Some good and conscientious waitresses share their tips with the dishwashers and people behind the scenes who help them if they have a good night on tips.
Why do we always want to cut the wages of people at the bottom instead of the top of the ladder?
