My dictionary's explanation of marriage is "the legal union of a man and woman."
It is because people are trying to change the meaning that it was necessary to put the amendment on the November ballot.
This is the way Amendment #1 reads on the ballot: "Shall the Minnesota constitution be amended to provide that only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in Minnesota?" You either vote YES or NO.
I urge you to say YES. What does your heart and mind tell you? And what is your wish for our state? If left blank your option will be counted as NO.
Then consider also voting YES for Amendment #2, which is also simple language: "Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to require all voters to present valid photo identification to vote and to require the state to provide free identification to eligible voters effective July 1, 2013."

We are told there is no voter fraud, but in a recent election, ballots were accepted that showed up in a lady's car trunk. This law is reasonable, so vote YES. If left blank, it counts as a NO.
Every state that has voter ID increases their voter turnout because of greater confidence in our election process.
